    Trying to forget isn't as easy
    As meeting a person for the first time

    You have no expectations
    No common memories
    No places to remind you of them
    No music that you shared
    Yet....

    Forgetting is like going backwards

    Letting go of the memories
    The familiar scenes
    The repeated songs
    and the most difficult of all
    Is the expectation that it'll happen again
    In the same way

    But you know what
    Forgetting won't make you stronger
    It won't make you feel better
    Because one day...
    When you recall those days
    You'll feel more pain

    Might as well accept it
    With no expectations
    But just accepting the fact that
    Things might not be the same anymore

    I think by doing that
    The sunrise would look more beautiful
    The chocolate taste all the sweeter
    and
    The wind all the more comforting

    Yes, I'd like to do that
    So that I can confidently say Hi
    The next time I see you
