just finished watching a Korean movie with my housemate
    title is The 11th Mom
    i cried so many times la~~ T__________T

it's about a small boy who has an abusive father
one day, he brings home a sick prostitute
she was pale and had liver problems
the boy hated her like he hated the other women that his father brought home every season
he could not settle with the fact that she would be his new mom
she often stole his food and went through his stuff for his food vouchers
    they often fought
the boy goes to school and gets beaten up by some rude classmates
he goes home to find her with a syringe
he threw her syringe away because he thought she was a junkie
    turns out she's diabetic
so he ran to the store to get her some chocolate
that's the beginning of their friendship.....
she protected him when his drunk, gambler father came home looking for money
in return, he treated her better
still he never called her "Mom"

she began to feel pain in her abdomen after a few weeks
she went to the hospital for a check up
she got diagnosed with liver cancer
with only a couple of weeks left to live
she decided to leave the boy
so that she would not hurt him anymore
the poor kid thought that she was acting like those women before her
    he was damn pissed off

his teacher at school was inviting the students' mothers to attend a class party
he gave the reason that his mother had to work
    the teacher called her instead
she was living in a welfare home
she pondered and pondered whether to go or not
    he was sitting in class
alone...drawing while other kids were enjoying the performances
    with their moms
    suddenly, the door opens
    she walked in
    dressed decently
he got angry at her after school ended
he began shouting that she had left him...so why did she come back?
    she began walking away
then he shouted, "Mother, don't go!!! Don't go!!!" *i cried at this part T_________T*

she stopped when she heard the word 'mother'
    and ran to hug him
she moved back into their house
    they had happy days together
he used his money to buy medicine for her
hoping that she would get better
when he wasn't there, she called and ordered a new storybook for him
she even bought him new clothes
as presents for his birthday that she may not witness
their happiness was interrupted by the abusive father
he had sold her to a pimp
he instructed the boy to pack her belongings and await his return

while the boy was at the store
she opened the door for the perverted neighbour
she offered him her body but on one condition...he would protect the boy if his father hit him
the gutless man refused and walked out
the evil father came home and started banging the door
the neighbour suddenly found his balls
and began scolding the useless father
    they ended up fighting
the neighbour's old mother called the police
    they arrested both of them
    but let the neighbour go
the father was wanted for fraud
so he ended up in jail

    the boy came home
    not knowing what had happened
he asks his mother to pack and leave before his father came home
she started vomiting in the bathroom
    her cancer was spreading
that night...she lay beside him in bed
in pain from the poisonous tumour *i cried here too T_____T*

    the next morning
    the boy had cooked breakfast
he piled up extra rice for his mother
he sang to wake her up
    she lay still
    he became agitated
    he shook and shook her
    still she did not move
he finally realized that she had moved on *criesss~~ T____T*

    a month later
a parcel arrived at their house
he opened it to find the book she had ordered
a little note on the inside said
"Happy birthday, son. By the time you read this, I would be gone. I know this book cannot replace the one your mother gave you but please accept it. There are a few clothes for you in the lowest drawer. From, your mother." *bawlssss T________T*

he visits his father at prison
his father looked like a better person now
his father asks him, "How's school?"
"I'm doing well. Thanks to mom."
"You like her that much eh?"
    "Yes. She's my real mother."
the father smiles and goes back into his cell

on his way home, the spring blossoms were falling
the boy was at peace now
no longer angry at the world
    ~The End~

    i know i know
some people will say that it's damn typical
but...I'm a sucker for movies with touching moments especially family-related
    especially between father/mother and child
so...don't watch movies like these with me
if you can't stand people that cry for movies
